Pursuant to adjournment the Senate was called to order by President            
Pearce at 9:07 a.m.                                                            
                                                                               
The roll showed twenty members present.                                        
                                                                               
The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Father Tom Moffatt of St.              
Nicholas Orthodox Christian Church of Juneau. Senator Hoffman                  
moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread.                   
Without objection, it was so ordered.                                          
                                                                               
Let us pray: Lord, look down from heaven upon                                 
Your Senators gathered here. Allow them to do their                            
duty without passion. In all things permit them to                             
act with love in the best interest of all Your people.

Message from Pat Pourchot, Legislative Director, Office of the                 
Governor, dated and received September 29 was read, stating:                   
                                                                               
On September 25, 1999, the Twenty-first Alaska State Legislature,              
acting in joint session, voted to override the previous veto of:               
                                                                               
HOUSE CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 130(JUD)                                         
An Act relating to immunity for sale or transfer of                            
a firearm; relating to administrative functions                                
performed by and fees charged by the Department                                
of Public Safety for transfer of a firearm.                                    
                                                                               
Therefore, the following chapter number has been assigned and the              
engrossed and enrolled copies will be transmitted to the Lieutenant            
Governor for permanent filing:

resolution be advanced to third reading and placed on final passage.
