Senators Elton, Hoffman, Leman were excused from a call of the Senate. Senator Taylor was absent. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Reverend Kim Poole of the Douglas Community United Methodist Church. Senator Halford led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance. Certification Senator Mackie moved and asked unanimous consent that the journal for the fifty-second legislative day be approved as certified by the Secretary. Without objection, it was so ordered. The presence of Senator Taylor was noted. Third Reading of Senate Bills SB 50 SENATE BILL NO. 50 An Act relating to certain boiler and pressure vessel inspections and inspectors; and providing for an effective date was read the third time. Senator Mackie moved that the bill be returned to second reading for the purpose of a specific amendment, that being Amendment No. 1. Without objection, the bill was returned to second reading. Senator Taylor offered Amendment No. 1 : Page 1, lines 8-9: Delete: commissioner determines that the employee is qualified by training and experience Insert: employee has completed training by the chief inspector and has passed an examination that has been approved by the director of the division of labor standards and safety Senator Taylor moved and asked unanimous consent for the adoption of Amendment No. 1.
