Pursuant to adjournment the Senate was called to order by President            
Pearce at 11:12 a.m.                                                           
                                                                               
The roll showed nineteen members present. Senator Ward was                     
excused from a call of the Senate.                                             
                                                                               
The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Senator Parnell. Senator               
Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be                   
spread. Without objection, it was so ordered.                                  
                                                                               
Lord God, this day we acknowledge You as creator                              
and maker. We thank You for the blessings of                                   
prosperity that our state has known over the years.                            
And we thank You too, for the opportunities You                                
have created in times of need. We pray for wisdom                              
and discernment today. We pray that the words we                               
speak would be spoken without malice. We pray                                  
that You would be present among us and among our                               
colleagues and the people of Alaska. In Jesus                                  
Name, Amen.
