Representatives Davies and Phillips had been previously excused from a call of the House today. Representative Therriault had been previously excused through morning plane time (page 94) and his presence was noted later. Representatives Kott, Mulder and Williams were absent and their presence was noted later. Representative Green moved and asked unanimous consent that Representative Brice's previous excuse (page 70) be extended to 6:00p.m., today. There being no objection, it was so ordered. The invocation was offered by the Chaplain, Pastor Paul Beran of the Resurrection Lutheran Church. Representative Green moved and asked unanimous consent that the invocation be spread on the journal. There being no objection, it appears below: Gracious God, our Heavenly Father, In the morning of this legislative year we bow before You, confessing our utter dependence upon You. We thank You for the awesome responsibility entrusted to us and the helpful difference we can make in many lives across Alaska. HB 28 was removed from the Health, Education & Social Services Committee and referred to the Judiciary Committee with a further referral to the Finance Committee. HJR 9 Representatives Hudson, Morgan, Halcro and Austerman added their names as cosponsors to: HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 9 Urging the President of the United States and the Congress to act to ensure that federal agencies do not retain records relating to lawful purchase or ownership of firearms gathered through the Brady Handgun Bill instant check system.
