The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Senator Sharp. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Sometimes the Answer is No! By Clay Harrison We often ask for selfish things that we dont really need, but God has never promised He would satisfy our greed. We cant all be rich or famous and live in luxury. Someone must wash the dishes and plant the potatoes you see. Everybody loves the winner who captures first place, but no one can remember the others in the race. Sometimes the things we pray for were never meant to be, and because we dont receive them, we doubt His love, you see. God hears every prayer we utter wherever we may go, and if he does not answer it could mean the answers NO! Oh Lord we thank You for Your unwavering faith in us, and ask for Your guidance in our deliberations. In Christs Name, Amen. Senator Parnell led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance. 3355 1998-04-18 Senate Journal Page 3356 Certification Senator Taylor moved and asked unanimous consent that the journal for the ninety-sixth legislative day be approved as certified by the Secretary.
