Senators Adams, Ellis, Halford, Lincoln, Ward were excused from a call of the Senate. Senator Pearce was absent. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Pastor Henry Friedrich of the Faith Lutheran Church. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. In the name of the Triune God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen. As this week comes to an end we thank You, Heavenly Father, for all the blessings which we have received from You. We thank You for progress that has been made toward finishing the tasks before us. We thank You for the privilege we have to serve the citizens of this great state. Give us the humility to acknowledge that we are servants of the people, and not lords over them. We are so small and insignificant as we consider the marvels of Your creation and the resources You have entrusted to us. As we conclude the tasks of this week, we again ask for Your blessing upon our deliberations. Give us all the gifts that we need to accomplish that which needs to be done, that which is for the good of all. Continue to bless us with faith, love, hope, peace, and joy in our service to You and our fellow citizens. Give us Your peace through Jesus Christ our Savior and our Lord. Amen. 3129 1998-04-03 Senate Journal Page 3130 Senator Sharp led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance.
