Dear Lord,

As we go about our daily tasks, give us a sense that future
generations depend on what we do today. Be with the men
and women of this House as they attend to many awesome
responsibilities. Give them a spirit of justice, a mind for
creativity, the ability to sift through mountains of words and
figures so they may see truth clearly. And give them the
courage to do the right thing.

We pray for those people and those causes we name silently
now.

Amen
