Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that today's prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Hear our prayer, O God, for this gathering of the Senate. Grant them the wisdom to create that which is essential for the common good and the wisdom to govern with justice and mercy so that Your people may live in peace and harmony without fear or threat. Open their hearts to provide for the needs of those in our community who, through no fault of their own, are weak and vulnerable. Let them not waste precious time in pettiness and fruitless deliberation. Endow them with a vision of the future that will bless our neighbors and proclaim Your glory. In Your Holy Name we pray.
