SENATE BILL NO. 172                                                           
"An Act eliminating 'monte carlo' nights as an authorized form of             
charitable gaming; and providing for an effective date."

Amendment No. 1 was offered  by Representative Finkelstein:                     
Page 2, line 18:                                                               
Delete "January 1, 1996"                                                      
Insert "March 1, 1996"                                                        
Representative Finkelstein moved and asked unanimous consent that              
Amendment No. 1 be adopted.

Representative Porter objected.                                                
Representative Willis moved and asked unanimous consent that he be             
allowed to abstain from voting due to a conflict of interest.  Objection       
was heard, and Representative Willis was required to vote.                     
The question being:  "Shall Amendment No. 1 be adopted?"  The roll             
was taken with the following result:

Representative Vezey moved and asked unanimous consent that                    
SB172 (efd am H) be considered engrossed, advanced to third reading            
and placed on final passage.                                                   
Objection was heard.                                                           
The Speaker stated that SB 172 (efd am H) would be in third reading            
on the May 10, 1995, calendar.
