Senators Lincoln, Pearce were absent. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Pastor Kermit Wilson, of the First Church of God. Senator Adams moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Our Heavenly Father, We thank You for another day of life and health. We are reminded of Your word that says, "Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens. Our God is a god who saves; from the Sovereign Lord comes escape from death." (Psalm 68:19) Lord we have some burdens which trouble us. We lift up to You our fellow Alaskans, some need jobs some are sick, some are in the midst of difficult circumstances. We ask that You would bear their burdens today and make their load light. May we go out of our way today to help someone in need.
