Representative Vezey had been previously excused from a call of the House today but his presence was noted. Representative Davidson was absent. The invocation was offered by the Chaplain, Veronica Peirovi of the Bahai Faith. Representative Hudson moved and asked unanimous consent that the invocation be spread on the journal. There being no objection, it appears below: "Blessed is the spot, and the house, and the place, and the city, and the heart, and the mountain, and the refuge, and the cave, and the valley, and the land, and the sea, and the island, and the meadow where mention of God hath been made, and His praise glorified. Baha'u'llah." Representative Toohey introduced "Up With People", an international cast of young men and women dedicated to building understanding and mutual respect among all people. The group is in Juneau for performances at Centennial Hall as part of a statewide tour. They sang "It Takes a Whole Village to Raise a Child" and "Alaska's Flag".
