"Great and loving God,

You are the source of life and love. In love, You created us,
and the universe in which we live. And, in love You have
given us stewardship over this little place in that universe.
We are blessed with abundant resources: both from nature,
and from the talents and gifts of men and women.

Help us, Lord, to make the most of the gifts that You have
made available. Inspire us to exercise our stewardship over
these things, with the same kind of loving care that You have
shown to us. Let that love be a guiding principle, so that we
can more effectively learn from our mistakes, and more
confidently legislate for the future. Amen."
