"Father, God, You have given us this institution we know as
the Legislature to do the will of Your people here in the State
and as members of this country. We recognize that over the
last year our presidential campaigns have caused divisiveness,
have laid bare some old wounds and we also recognize our
actions in this body sometimes lay bare wounds. We thank
You for the healing and restoration that only You can bring.
And we ask You, Lord, that You will be with us and guide
our decision-making throughout this day, this week and the
coming year. In Christ's name, we pray."
