00 CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 19(FIN) 01 "An Act relating to allocations for the special education service agency; extending the 02 special education service agency; and providing for an effective date." 03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 04 * Section 1. AS 14.30.650 is amended to read: 05 Sec. 14.30.650. Funding. Each fiscal year, the department shall allocate to the 06 agency not less than $23.13 [$18.65] times the number of students in the state in 07 average daily membership in the preceding fiscal year as determined under 08 AS 14.17.600. Money to carry out the provisions of this section may be appropriated 09 annually by the legislature. If amounts are insufficient to meet the allocation 10 authorized under this section for a fiscal year, the allocation shall be reduced pro rata. 11 * Sec. 2. AS 44.66.010(a)(6) is amended to read: 12 (6) special education service agency (AS 14.30.600) - June 30, 2029 13 [JUNE 30, 2021]; 14 * Sec. 3. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section to
01 read: 02 RETROACTIVITY. Section 2 of this Act is retroactive to June 30, 2021. 03 * Sec. 4. Section 1 of this Act takes effect July 1, 2021. 04 * Sec. 5. Except as provided in sec. 4 of this Act, this Act takes effect immediately under 05 AS 01.10.070(c).
