01 "An Act establishing Alaska Law Enforcement Officers' Day."                                                             
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1. AS 44.12 is amended by adding a new section to article 2 to read:                                     
04            Sec. 44.12.140. Alaska Law Enforcement Officers' Day. Alaska Law                                           
05       Enforcement Officers' Day is established on January 9 each year to honor law                                      
06       enforcement officers and peace officers. Alaska Law Enforcement Officers' Day may                                 
07       be observed by suitable observances and exercises by civic groups and the public.
