00 HOUSE BILL NO. 46 01 "An Act relating to regulations adopted by the Department of Administration waiving 02 the commercial motor vehicle driving skills test for certain drivers with military 03 commercial motor vehicle experience." 04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 05 * Section 1. AS 28.05.011(b) is amended to read: 06 (b) The commissioner of administration shall, unless otherwise provided by 07 statute, adopt regulations in compliance with AS 44.62 (Administrative Procedure 08 Act) necessary to carry out the provisions of this title whose administration is vested 09 in the Department of Administration. The regulations must include, but are not limited 10 to, 11 (1) registration, titling, and transfer of vehicles; 12 (2) licensing of drivers of vehicles and procedures for obtaining 13 limited license privileges; 14 (3) financial responsibility relating to vehicles other than commercial
01 motor vehicles; 02 (4) management of records of the Department of Administration 03 required for that department's administration of this title and its regulations adopted 04 under this title, including provisions for ensuring the accuracy of information 05 contained in automated and manual information retrieval systems; 06 (5) definitions of words and phrases used in this title and in regulations 07 adopted under this title unless otherwise provided by statute; 08 (6) registration of motor vehicle, trailer, and semi-trailer dealers; 09 (7) regulations necessary to implement a commercial motor vehicle 10 driver's licensing program; regulations adopted under this paragraph must 11 provide for a waiver of the driving skills test for drivers with recent military 12 commercial vehicle driving experience as allowed by federal law.
