01 "An Act relating to cable television service."                                                                          
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1. AS 42.05.711(k) is amended to read:                                                                   
04            (k)  A utility that furnishes cable television service is exempt from the                                    
05       provisions of this chapter [OTHER THAN AS 42.05.221 - 42.05.281 UNLESS THE                                        
06       SUBSCRIBERS PETITION THE COMMISSION FOR REGULATION UNDER                                                          
07       THE PROCEDURE DESCRIBED IN AS 42.05.712].                                                                         
08    * Sec. 2. AS 42.30 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                     
09                     Article 7. Cable Television Service.                                                              
10            Sec. 42.30.500. Cable television program offerings. A provider of cable                                    
11       television services in the state shall offer consumers the opportunity to select                                  
12       individual channels or programs from among all the channels or programs available                                 
13       from the provider, as well as the opportunity to select the bundles of channels or                                
14       programs that the provider elects to offer.
