01 "An Act relating to cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid classes for initial                                     
02 applicants for driver's licenses and instruction permits."                                                              
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1. AS 28.15 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                  
05            Sec. 28.15.059. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation training for new applicants                                  
06       for driver's licenses and instruction permits. The department may not issue a                                   
07       driver's license or instruction permit to a person who has not previously held a license                          
08       or permit unless the person supplies evidence acceptable to the department that the                               
09       person has attended a cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid class in the one-year                           
10       period immediately preceding the application.
