01 "An Act relating to firearms."                                                                                          
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1.  AS 29.35.145(a) is amended to read:                                                                  
04            (a)  A municipality may not enact or enforce an ordinance regulating the                                 
05       possession, sale, transfer, use, or transportation of firearms that is inconsistent                           
06       with state law.  This subsection does not limit the authority of a municipality to                            
07       adopt or enact an ordinance that provides reasonable restrictions on the                                      
08       discharge of firearms within the municipality [, EXCEPT BY ORDINANCE                                          
09       RATIFIED BY THE VOTERS, RESTRICT THE RIGHT TO OWN OR POSSESS                                                      
10       FIREARMS WITHIN A RESIDENCE OR TRANSPORT UNLOADED                                                                 
11       FIREARMS].
