00 SENATE BILL NO. 21 01 "An Act increasing the maximum civil fine that may be imposed by the State Medical 02 Board as a disciplinary sanction." 03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 04 * Section 1. AS 08.64.331(a) is amended to read: 05 (a) If the board finds that a licensee has committed an act set out in 06 AS 08.64.326(a), the board may 07 (1) permanently revoke a license to practice; 08 (2) suspend a license for a determinate period of time; 09 (3) censure a licensee; 10 (4) issue a letter of reprimand; 11 (5) place a licensee on probationary status and require the licensee to 12 (A) report regularly to the board on matters involving the basis 13 of probation; 14 (B) limit practice to those areas prescribed;

01 (C) continue professional education until a satisfactory degree 02 of skill has been attained in those areas determined by the board to need 03 improvement; 04 (6) impose limitations or conditions on the practice of a licensee; 05 (7) impose a civil fine of not more than $25,000 [$10,000]; or 06 (8) impose one or more of the sanctions set out in (1) - (7) of this 07 subsection.
