01 "An Act relating to insurance pooling."                                                                                 
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1.  AS 21.76.010(a) is amended to read:                                                                    
04  (a)  Municipalities and their public corporations, city and borough school                                            
05 districts, [AND] regional educational attendance areas, and members of an employer                                     
06 association may enter into cooperative agreements with each other for the purpose of                                   
07 establishing, operating, or participating in joint insurance arrangements through which                                 
08 the participating members agree to pool contributions in order to either assume risks                                   
09 from losses to the participants on a group basis or purchase coverage for the                                           
10 participants on a group basis.                                                                                          
11    * Sec. 2.  AS 21.76.900 is amended by adding a new paragraph to read:                                                
12   (7)  "employer association" means an unincorporated association that has                                             
13 been in existence for at least five years and that consists of at least five employers who                              
14 are engaged in the same or similar type of trade, business, or profession.
