00HOUSE BILL NO. 347 01 "An Act providing for an advisory vote on whether any group should be 02 provided an exemption to the gambling laws of the state; and providing for an 03 effective date." 04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 05 * Section 1. The lieutenant governor shall place before the qualified voters of the state at 06 the November 1996 general election a question advisory to the legislature of whether any 07 group should receive an exemption from the gambling laws of the state and be permitted to 08 use gambling instruments or devices. The question shall appear on the ballot in the following 09 form: 10 Q U E S T I O N 11 Should any group receive an exemption from the gambling laws of the state so 12 as to allow them to utilize playing cards, dice, roulette wheels, coin-operated 13 instruments or machines, or other objects or instruments used, designed, or 14 intended primarily for gaming or gambling?
