01 "An Act relating to a mitigating factor in sentencing for assistance provided by                                        
02 a defendant to authorities in the detection, apprehension, or prosecution of other                                      
03 persons who have committed offenses."                                                                                   
04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
05    * Section 1.  AS 12.55.155(d)(12) is amended to read:                                                                
06   (12)  the defendant, within one year before or after being charged                                                  
07 with the offense for which the defendant is being sentenced, assisted authorities to                                   
08 detect, apprehend, or prosecute other persons who committed an offense;  the                                           
09 assistance that provides the basis for this mitigating factor may only be used for                                      
10 sentencing for one criminal episode;
