Please add it to the record for HB 39. Many thanks, Tim From: garith nielsen [mailto:chaguun@yahoo.com] Sent: Monday, February 04, 2013 2:50 PM To: Timothy Clark Subject: Re: HB39--PCE Bill To; House Energy Committee From; Garith J.Nielsen-Kokhanok,AK. 99606 Concerning HB39-PCE Bill I strongly urge the adoption of HB39. Cost per Kilowatt hour here in Kokhanok is .90 cents per KWH. Cost per gallon of heating fuel is $7.86 without the delivery cost added. I own a small business that consists of a building that is roughly 866 sqft. The electrical cost runs between $600.00-$900.00 a month depending on the time of year. The fuel costs average about $750.00-$800.00 per month also. All of the steps to attempt the reduction of energy have been taken that are feasable& reasonable. (compact flourescents, lights off, freezers in unheated area, ect.) Any assistance for small businesses in the bush would be greatly appreciated to help save on the cost of goods available to the customer, who, often have to make the decisions between ,food, fuel,or lights. In fact a few households have had thier water turned off ,which has a very minimal charge, to help pay for thier electricity. Our personal residence is 1400 sqft (small by city standards-large by bush standard). The monthly KWH usage averages between 600-700kwh per month. With the current PCE program this is almost managable,if the weather is warm, when the mercury dips below +10f the heat tapes have to come on.With the tapes on and when the PCE runs out for the month, the cost of electricity jumps to $20.00-50.00 a day, depending on wether 1 or 2 heat tapes are running and/or if a fan or two is running like they all were last winter for 3 months. Thank You All, for taking this bill into cosideration.
