BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL POSITIONS :
I began working as a mechanical engineer and moved into leadership positions, gaining experience in project management, marketing, quality systems, logistics, and business unit and manufacturing management. Fields of work include mining and construction, oil and gas, water and wastewater systems, industrial control systems, industrial digital x-ray systems; and related workforce development, career and technical education, new venture creation and innovation management. Recent positions include Technology Commercialization Officer at UAF, Affiliate Faculty at APU, Holland Consulting, and Partner and Cofounder of Alyeska Venture Management.

BIO:
Ky Holland, is the representative for Alaska House District 9 covering the south Anchorage hillside to Girdwood and the City of Whitter. Ky grew up in Anchorage and has four decades of experience as an engineer, business manager, university educator, and consultant. Ky’s career has included work in mining, construction, oil and gas, public safety, water and wastewater and a variety of related industrial products, training, and technologies. In the community Ky has been on boards addressing housing, workforce development, economic development, innovation, and local community engagement.

A lifelong Alaskan, Ky has combined his professional experience with a deep commitment to community service, working to foster sustainable development, improve educational opportunities, and advocate for resilience infrastructure and affordable energy. Ky is married to Sharon, a public school librarian, and has two grown children, Heather and Russel.
