SENATE BILL NO. 261 "An Act relating to the Special Olympics World Winter Games to be held in Anchorage in the year 2001; establishing a reserve fund for the games; providing certain duties and authority for the Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority regarding financing for those games; and providing for an effective date." SENATE BILL NO. 285 "An Act relating to state procurement practices." ACTION NARRATIVE TAPE 98-2 , SIDE A CHAIRMAN KELLY called the Senate Rules Committee meeting to order at 11:47 a.m, and noted all members were present. CHAIRMAN KELLY reviewed the committee calendar and then requested calendaring motions on the legislation. SENATOR LEMAN moved and asked unanimous consent SB 208 - VOTER APPROVAL OF SERVICE AREA CHANGES be approved for calendaring at the discretion of the Chair. Hearing no objection, it was so ordered. SB 261 SENATOR LEMAN moved and asked unanimous consent SB 261 - SPECIAL OLYMPICS 2001 be approved for calendaring at the discretion of the Chair. SENATOR TAYLOR objected and asked if the legislation included an amendment requested by Representative Terry Martin and CHAIRMAN KELLY assured him that it did not. SENATOR TAYLOR withdrew his objection, and there being no further objection, CHAIRMAN KELLY stated the calendaring motion carried. SENATOR LEMAN moved and asked unanimous consent SB 285 - STATE PROCUREMENT be approved for calendaring at the discretion of the Chair. Hearing no objection, it was so ordered.
