WITNESS REGISTER None ACTION NARRATIVE TAPE 94-34, SIDE A Number 001 CHAIRMAN MILLER called the Resources Committee meeting to order at 3:36 p.m. and announced SCR 18 (PURCHASE FEDERAL LAND FROM THE U.S.) to be up for consideration. SENATOR LEMAN moved to pass SCR 18 from committee with individual recommendations. SENATORS MILLER, LEMAN, PEARCE, and FRANK voted yes; SENATOR ADAMS voted no and the bill passed. SENATOR MILLER announced they would hear from Harry A. Noah, Commissioner of the Department of Natural Resources. COMMISSIONER NOAH said he had graduated from Humboldt State with a degree in Resource Management. He started out by working on land use plans and then preparing impact statement for various environmental groups. He came to Alaska in 1980 to work on the Greens Creek project and worked on the Red Dog Project, north of Kotzebue. He worked on the gas line for the Governor and then worked in the Western United States for a group of mining companies dealing with resource problem areas. SENATOR MILLER thanked him for attending the meeting and he said they had the standard letter for the committee. SENATOR MILLER said there were also six members of the Big Game Commercial Service Board, Commercial Fishing Entry Commission, and the Board of Game. SENATOR ADAMS said he was prepared to forward all names to a joint session. SENATOR MILLER asked if anyone had any comments. No one had any objections. SENATOR MILLER adjourned the meeting at 3:43 p.m.
