PREVIOUS SENATE COMMITTEE ACTION SB 104 - See Resources minutes dated 2/26/93 and 3/3/93. WITNESS REGISTER Glenn Olds, Commissioner Department of Natural Resources 400 Willoughby Ave. Juneau, Alaska 99801-1724 ACTION NARRATIVE TAPE 93-12, SIDE A Number 001 SENATOR MILLER called the Resources Committee meeting to order at 3:50 p.m. and asked MR. GLENN OLDS to join the Committee for his confirmation hearing. MR. OLDS said he had no speech prepared and he would answer questions. He said Alaska Department of Natural Resources is the only state that has a constitutional mandate to manage our resources for the good of all the people, to maximize their use, development, and conservation. Number 40 SENATOR LEMAN asked him if he knew when the issue of exploration licensing would be presented to the legislature. MR. OLDS said it wasn't in the form appropriate for legislative initiative until the Attorney General and the Governor decide whether they want to go forward with it or not. Number 108 SENATOR MILLER thanked him for attending the meeting and announced SB 104 STATE SHARE OF FEDERAL GAS ROYALTIES to be up for consideration. SENATOR PEARCE said she had an amendment, but since there were others, she thought it best to move the bill to the Finance Committee and deal with them there. SENATOR MILLER agreed. SENATOR PEARCE moved to pass SB 104 from committee with individual recommendations. There were no objections and it was so ordered. Number 148 SENATOR MILLER adjourned the meeting at 3:57 p.m.
