ACTION NARRATIVE TAPE 00-1, SIDE A Number 001 CHAIRMAN HALFORD called the Joint Special Committee on Mergers meeting to order at 3:05 p.m. and announced that they have a report to make to the legislature by the 15th day and they need to adopt a schedule to do that. He has spoken to all parties so that they can have a schedule that includes a presentation by the consultants they hired on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. And on Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., they scheduled a presentation by BP and from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. for the Administration to go through their package on the Charter. He said that ARCO asked to be able to answer questions, but they do not need to make a presentation. REPRESENTATIVE PORTER agreed with those recommendations. SENATOR PEARCE asked if documents brought forward and everything could be said in open session. CHAIRMAN HALFORD answered if there is a request for an executive session by a participant of the three, there would be an exception, but the intent is to avoid confidential documents and to work on the substance of where we are right now. CO-CHAIRMAN HALFORD adjourned the meeting at 3:10 p.m.
