ACTION NARRATIVE 1:29:52 PM CHAIR MIKE DUNLEAVY called the Senate Labor and Commerce Standing Committee meeting to order at 1:29 p.m. Present at the call to order were Senators Stedman, Micciche, and Chair Dunleavy. Senator Olson arrived soon thereafter. SB 61-COMMERCIAL FISHING & AGRICULTURE BANK  1:29:55 PM CHAIR DUNLEAVY announced the consideration of SB 61. "An Act relating to the board, loans, records, and lobbying contracts of the Alaska." He noted that this was the second hearing. JORDAN SHILLING, Staff, Senator John Coghill, sponsor of SB 61, offered to answer questions. LEA KLINGER, President, Alaska Commercial Fishing and Agriculture Bank (CFAB), offered to answer questions. 1:30:32 PM SENATOR OLSON joined the committee. CHAIR DUNLEAVY found no questions or testimony and closed public testimony. 1:30:57 PM SENATOR MICCICHE stated that this was the second hearing on the bill. Many questions were asked and answered during the previous hearing, which explains the lack of questions today. CHAIR DUNLEAVY solicited a motion to move the bill from committee. 1:31:09 PM SENATOR MICCICHE moved to report SB 61, 28-LS0396\N, from committee with individual recommendations and attached fiscal note(s). CHAIR DUNLEAVY announced that without objection, SB 61 moved from the Senate Labor and Commerce Standing Committee. 1:31:30 PM At ease SB 58-CANCEL INS. ON CERTAIN ABANDONED PROPERTY  1:33:05 PM CHAIR DUNLEAVY reconvened the meeting and recognized that Senators Olson, Micciche, Steadman and Chair Dunleavy were present. He announced the consideration of SB 58. "An Act allowing an insurer to cancel an insurance policy if property becomes entirely." This was the second hearing. CHAIR DUNLEAVY found no public testimony and closed it. 1:33:44 PM SENATOR MICCICHE stated that this bill was heard previously. Many questions were asked and the committee is satisfied that abandoned property truly would be abandoned before an insurance company would cancel the insurance. If there are no questions today, it's because they were answered in the previous hearing, he said.
