Senator Dunleavy MOVED that the Senate Finance Committee go into executive session under Uniform Rule 22(b)(1), discussion of matters, the immediate knowledge of which could adversely affect the finances of a government unit and 22(b)(3) discussion of a matter that may, by law, be required to be confidential. There being NO OBJECTION, it was so ordered. 1:42:14 PM EXECUTIVE SESSION 2:55:08 PM RECONVENED Co-Chair Meyer relayed that the Senate Finance Committee issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) on June 24, 2013 for the purpose of soliciting proposals for the purpose of conducting an actuarial analysis of the current health benefit plans for each of the 53 school districts in Alaska. He continued that the RFP was for the purpose of considering consolidating public school employees in Alaska under a state managed group health insurance plan. He relayed that four responses had been received. He asked Senator Bishop to make a motion related to the committee's recommendation. Senator Bishop MOVED that the Senate Finance Committee request the Legislative Affairs Agency to issue a Notice of Intent to award a contract to Hay Group in the amount not to exceed $300,027.00 for the purpose of conducting an actuarial analysis of the current health benefit plans for each of the 53 school districts in Alaska and for the purpose of considering consolidating public school employees in Alaska under a state-managed group health insurance program.
