MINUTES SENATE FINANCE COMMITTEE May 5, 1994 10:30 p.m. TAPES SFC-94, #89, Side 2 (050-150) CALL TO ORDER Senator Drue Pearce, Co-chair, convened the meeting at approximately 10:30 p.m. PRESENT In addition to Co-chairs Pearce and Frank, Senators Rieger, Kelly, and Sharp were present. Senators Jacko and Kerttula were absent from the meeting. ALSO ATTENDING: Mike Greany, Director, Legislative Finance Division; and aides to committee members. SUMMARY INFORMATION CSSSSB 301(FIN) AM: An Act allowing a school district to offset a reduction of five percent or more in elementary and secondary school instructional units that the district is eligible to receive under the foundation formula; increasing the elementary and secondary instructional units received in a district that consists of a single funding community with an average daily membership of 800 or fewer students; and providing for an effective date. 2nd CSSSSB 301(FIN) was brought before the committee. 2nd CSSSSB 301(FIN) was REPORTED out of committee with individual recommenations and a fiscal note for the Department of Education for $96.4. Co- chair Pearce said it was the same bill that had been in Senate Finance Committee. Senator Rieger MOVED for passage of 2nd CSSSSB 301(FIN) from committee with individual recommendations. 2nd CSSSSB 301(FIN) was REPORTED out of committee with a fiscal note for the Department of Education for $96.4. Senators Kelly, Rieger and Co-chair Frank signed a "do pass" and Co-chair Pearce, Senators Sharp and Jacko signed "no recommedation." ADJOURNMENT The meeting was recessed at approximately 10:40 p.m.
