CHAIR GENE  THERRIAULT called the  Senate Committee  on Committees                                                            
meeting  to order  at 9:50  a.m.  All  members were  present.   He                                                              
announced that  the committee would  address modifications  to the                                                              
Committee on Committees Report dated  January 21, 2003, due to the                                                              
upcoming appointment  of Representative  Gary Stevens to  the seat                                                              
vacated by Senator Austerman.                                                                                                   
                                                                                                                                
CHAIR THERRIAULT explained the changes as follows:                                                                              
                                                                                                                                
     Senator Taylor will hold a seat on the Senate Finance                                                                      
     Committee.                                                                                                                 
     Senator Gary Stevens will replace Senator Taylor as Chair of                                                               
     the Senate State Affairs Committee and will take Senator                                                                   
     Austerman's vacated seat on the Senate Labor and Commerce                                                                  
     and Community and Regional Affairs Committees.                                                                             
                                                                                                                                
In  addition, the  committee  has  designated vice-chairs  in  all                                                              
standing committees.                                                                                                            
                                                                                                                                
SENATOR ELLIS noted  that Senator Gary Stevens has  not been sworn                                                              
in as of this  time and asked if the new appointments  are pending                                                              
his swearing in.                                                                                                                
                                                                                                                                
CHAIR  THERRIAULT  said that  is  correct  and told  members  that                                                              
Governor  Murkowski's  appointment   letter  will  be  read  under                                                              
Reports of Standing Committees, along  with a letter of acceptance                                                              
from the Senate Majority.                                                                                                       
                                                                                                                                
SENATOR BEN  STEVENS moved  to adopt  the Committee on  Committees                                                              
Report dated February 21, 2003.                                                                                                 
                                                                                                                                
CHAIR THERRIAULT announced that without  objection, the Report was                                                              
adopted  and  would   be  transmitted  to  the   full  Senate  for                                                              
consideration today.  With no further business to  come before the                                                              
committee, he adjourned the meeting at 9:53 a.m.
