CO-CHAIR HALFORD informed committee members the proposed changes to SB 101 are as follows: 1. the extension of a disaster emergency must be approved by law as in the Senate version, rather than by resolution; 2. the expenditure limitations were taken from the House version: those limits are $500,000 per incident, $1,000,000 per disaster, and no limit applies to wildland fires; 3. a poll must be taken by the presiding officer or his/her designee, in any form, and responded to by a majority of the legislative membership; and 4. the House language of the list of disasters, incidents, etc., remains. SENATOR PARNELL moved to adopt Version Z, dated 5/14/99, as the working document of the Conference Committee. There being no objection, the motion carried. CO-CHAIR HALFORD noted the presence of Senator Hoffman. REPRESENTATIVE BUNDE moved to pass the Conference Committee Substitute to SB 101 out of committee without objection. There being no objection, the motion carried. There being no further business to come before the committee, CO- CHAIR HALFORD adjourned the meeting at 12:45 p.m.
