Senator Halford was also present. Present from the Sakhalin Regional Duma were: Lubov Fedorovna Shubina, Head of Delegation, First Deputy Chair, Sakhalin Regional Duma; Alexander Borosovich Abrosimov, Deputy Chair, Committee on Natural Resources and Ecology; Zinaida Ivanova Sbotova, Deputy Chair, Committee on Local Government and Budget; Sergei Maximovich Romanyutenko, Deputy Chair, Legislative and Local Governments Committee; Anatoli Alexeevich Tolstonogov, Deputy Chair, Industrial, Construction and Transportation Committee; Alexander Nikolaevich Bolsun, International Affairs Consultant; Viktor Vasilievich Korotkikh, Press Center Consultant; and Igor Byachetlavoech Malinov, Translator. SUMMARY OF INFORMATION WILSON C. CONDON, Commissioner, Alaska Department of Revenue, provided background information on the department and discussed the importance of oil revenues in relation to the State's finances. He responded to questions asked by the Sakhalin Regional Duma members. JOHN T. SHIVELY, Commissioner, Alaska Department of Natural Resources, provided general information on oil and gas leasing. He responded to questions asked by the Sakhalin Regional Duma members. MICHELE BROWN, Commissioner, Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation, discussed the importance of oil spill policies with respect to programs, prevention and response. She responded to questions asked by the Sakhalin Regional Duma members. COMMITTEE ACTION The Committee took no action.
