TAPES  02-3, SIDE(S) A & B [House O&G tape] CALL TO ORDER  REPRESENTATIVE SCOTT OGAN, Chair, called the joint meeting of the House Special Committee on Oil and Gas and the House Resources Standing Committee to order at 10:07 a.m. PRESENT  Members present from the House Special Committee on Oil and Gas were Representatives Ogan, Dyson, Fate, and Kohring; Representatives Guess and Chenault joined the meeting as it was in progress. Members present from the House Resources Standing Committee were Representatives Masek, Scalzi, Stevens, and McGuire (as well as Representatives Fate and Chenault, members of both committees). SUMMARY OF INFORMATION  MARK SEXTON, President & CEO, Evergreen Resources, Inc., presented an overview of his company including a company profile, awards, community relations, growth of the company, why they have come to Alaska, a description of the process to drill for coal bed methane gas, a description of the deposit in the Pioneer Unit, a description of their current production in the Raton Basin in Colorado, equipment used, evaporation ponds, erosion control, pipeline construction, noise abatement, and projected plans for Evergreen Resources, Inc., in Alaska. A handout was provided. ANNOUNCEMENTS  There were no announcements. COMMITTEE ACTION  The committees took no action.
