ALASKA STATE LEGISLATURE  HOUSE SPECIAL COMMITTEE ON OIL AND GAS January 23, 2001 10:02 a.m. COMMITTEE CALENDAR  "SEVEN SNAPSHOTS OF OIL & GAS IN ALASKA," PART 1, AK OIL & GAS ASSOCIATION TAPES  01-3, SIDES A & B 01-4, SIDE A CALL TO ORDER  REPRESENTATIVE SCOTT OGAN, Chair, called the House Special Committee on Oil and Gas meeting to order at 10:02 a.m. PRESENT  Committee members present were Representatives Ogan, Dyson, Chenault, Fate, Kohring, Guess, and Joule. Also present were Representatives Lancaster and Green. SUMMARY OF INFORMATION  There was a basic introduction to oil and gas by the Alaska Oil & Gas Association (AOGA). Handouts were provided. All presentations were followed by questions from committee members. GARY CARLSON, Senior Vice-President, Forest Oil Corporation, presented Snapshot 1 - Oil and Gas in Cook Inlet: Why It Is, Who Produces It? DAN KRUSE, Development Manager for the Greater Kuparuk Area, Phillips Alaska, Inc., presented Snapshot 2 - Oil and Gas On the North Slope: Why It Is; Where It Is; Who Produces? TOM WILLIAMS, Alaska Tax Counsel, BP Exploration (Alaska) Inc., presented Snapshot 3 - Taxes and Royalties: How Much and To Whom - the State, Local and Federal Share. ANNOUNCEMENTS  Members were asked to keep their packets for the second half of AOGA's presentation, to be held the following Thursday. COMMITTEE ACTION  The committee took no action.
