Representative Hodgins, Chairman, convened the House Special                   
Committee on Oil and Gas meeting at 10:04 a.m.

Committee members present at the call to order were Representatives            
Bunde, Hodgins, Kemplen, Ryan and Rokeberg.  Representative(s) Ogan            
and Brice arrived as the meeting was in progress.  Other                       
legislators present were Representatives Davies and Dyson.                     
                                                                               
SUMMARY OF INFORMATION                                                         
                                                                               
WILSON CONDON, Commissioner, Department of Revenue, gave an                    
overview of the work to date by the North Slope Gas                            
Commercialization Team and answered questions about the final                  
report.                                                                        
                                                                               
JOHN SHIVELY, Commissioner, Department of Natural Resources,                   
discussed some of the possibilities regarding taxation and                     
royalties on the gas.                                                          
                                                                               
PEDRO VAN MEURS, Ph.D., Economic Consultant, discussed some of the             
variables relating to current market trends and possible                       
ramifications of the economic decline in the Asian markets.
