HOUSE SPECIAL COMMITTEE ON OIL AND GAS February 11, 1997 10:05 a.m. COMMITTEE CALENDAR ADMINISTRATION & PRODUCER'S REPORT ON PROGRESS OF MEMORANDUMS OF UNDERSTANDING RELATING TO THE PROPOSED ALASKA NORTH SLOPE GAS PROJECT. TAPE(S) 97-5, SIDE(S) A & B CALL TO ORDER Representative Hodgins, Chairman, convened the House Special Committee on Oil and Gas meeting at 10:05 a.m. PRESENT Committee members present at the call to order were Representatives Hodgins, Kemplen, Bunde and Ogan. SUMMARY OF INFORMATION WAYNE LEWIS, Vice President, Yukon Pacific Corporation, informed the committee that they are ready to sign the memorandum of understanding and answered questions on the progressive steps of the project. DAVID LAWRENCE, Manager, Gas Commercialization and Marketing, ARCO Alaska Incorporated, expressed ARCO's continued support for the memorandum of understanding and answered questions on the progressive steps of the project. MARK BENDERSKY, Commercial Manager of Gas, British Petroleum Exploration (Alaska) Incorporated, indicated that the company is in the process of deciding on whether to support the memorandum of understanding and answered questions on the progressive steps of the project. BEVERLY MENTZER, Business Development Manager, Natural Gas Department, Exxon Company USA, stated that Exxon would be willing to sign the memorandum of understanding if in included a specific statement and answered questions on the progressive steps of the project.
