LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL February 26, 2001 1. ROLL CALL  The Legislative Council meeting was called to order at 5:15 p.m. by Representative Green, Legislative Council Chair, in the House Finance Committee Room at the Alaska State Capitol. The roll was taken. In attendance were Council members Green, Kott, Murkowski, Ogan, Porter, Rokeberg, Cowdery, Pearce, Torgerson, and Elton. Members absent were Berkowitz, Donley, Halford, and Kelly. Staff present were Varni, Cook, Ibesate, Schofield and Wyatt. 2. APPROVAL OF THE FEBRUARY 8, 2001 MEETING MINUTES    Representative Porter moved the minutes of the February 8, 2001 meeting be approved. With no objection the motion was approved unanimously. 3. FY 02 LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS AGENCY BUDGET REQUEST  Pamela Varni, Executive Director, Legislative Affairs Agency, explained that the members packet contained the proposed FY 02 Legislative Affairs Agency budget request. She explained that the budget request is a maintenance level budget that includes anticipated increases in health insurance and funds the two percent salary cost of living adjustment. Representative Porter moved the proposed FY 02 Legislative Affairs Agency budget be forwarded to the House and Senate Finance Committees. With no objection the motion was approved unanimously. 4. FY 02 OFFICE OF THE OMBUDSMAN BUDGET REQUEST  Maria Moya, Acting Ombudsman, Office of the Ombudsman, presented the Ombudsman's FY 02 proposed budget. She explained that the budget request is a maintenance level budget that includes an increment to cover anticipated increases in health insurance rates and to fund a two percent salary cost of living adjustment. Senator Torgerson moved the proposed FY 02 Ombudsman's budget be forwarded to the House and Senate Finance Committees. With no objection the motion was approved unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 5:30 p.m.
