HOUSE HEALTH, EDUCATION AND SOCIAL SERVICES STANDING COMMITTEE February 8, 2000 3:04 p.m. COMMITTEE CALENDAR ALASKA STATE HEALTH CARE ACCESS COMMISSION RESOLUTION PROPOSAL TAPE 00-8, SIDE A REPRESENTATIVE FRED DYSON, Chairman, called the House Health, Education and Social Services Standing Committee meeting to order at 3:04 p.m. PRESENT Committee members present were Representatives Dyson, Green, Morgan, Brice, Kemplen and Coghill. Representative Whitaker arrived as the meeting was in progress. SUMMARY OF INFORMATION GARY SCHWARTZ, Board of Directors, Community Care Foundation, presented a discussion on the creation of a Statewide Health Care Commission which would conduct a study regarding the establishment of a self funded state health care delivery organization that could offer and administrate a basic health benefit plan available to all Alaskans. He urged the committee to pass a resolution to create a Statewide Health Care Commission.
