TAPE HFC 00 - 46A, Side 1 CALL TO ORDER Co-Chair Mulder called the House Finance Committee meeting to order at 2:10 p.m. PRESENT Co-Chair Mulder Co-Chair Therriault Representative Foster Vice Chair Bunde Representative Grussendorf Representative Austerman Representative Moses Representative J. Davies Representative Phillips Representative G. Davis Representative Williams SUMMARY No bills were before the committee. Co-Chair Mulder noted that the House Finance Committee subcommittees had finished their work on the operating budget. Co-Chair Therriault recommended that the subcommittee recommendations be merged into a proposed committee substitute for the members to review. There were no objections from members. Co-Chair Mulder noted his intention to provide the proposed committee substitutes to the public as soon as possible. Discussion pursued regarding the FY01 closeout process. He noted that subcommittee recommendations were available on the Internet. He added that agency responses would be posted on the Internet as soon as they are available. Representative J. Davies expressed concerns that there would be insufficient time to prepare amendments. Co-Chair Mulder explained that the intent is to allow the Legislative Finance Division time to review amendments for their technical correctness. He assured Representative J. Davies that the ability to offer amendments would not be limited. He observed that allowances would be made for additional amendments. Any member, at any point in time can offer an amendment during the budget process. Co-Chair Therriault encouraged members to have amendments available for review as early as possible.
