REPRESENTATIVE  LESIL McGUIRE,  Chair, called  the House  Special                                                               
Committee on Economic Development, Trade  and Tourism to order at

SUMMARY OF INFORMATION                                                                                                        
                                                                                                                                
GREG  WOLF,   Director,  Division  of  International   Trade  and                                                               
Marketing  Development   (ITMD),  Department  of   Community  and                                                               
Economic  Development, gave  an overview  of the  division.   Mr.                                                               
Wolf  provided  detailed  handouts [three-ring  binders]  to  the                                                               
committee  members.   He  explained the  importance  of trade  to                                                               
Alaska's economy and  answered questions posed by  members of the                                                               
committee  regarding the  goals, activities,  and accomplishments                                                               
of the division.                                                                                                                
                                                                                                                                
ANNOUNCEMENTS                                                                                                                 
                                                                                                                                
CHAIR McGUIRE  announced the  next meetings  would be  3:30 p.m.,                                                               
January 24, 2001, for a  presentation by Wei, Jingsheng; and 5:00                                                               
p.m., January 29, 2001, for the formal organizational meeting.
