ALASKA STATE LEGISLATURE  HOUSE SPECIAL COMMITTEE ON ECONOMIC  DEVELOPMENT, TRADE AND TOURISM February 1, 2001 5:12 p.m.   COMMITTEE CALENDAR  ALASKA INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AND EXPORT AUTHORITY (AIDEA) TAPES  01-4, SIDE A CALL TO ORDER  REPRESENTATIVE JOE GREEN, Vice Chair, convened the House Special Committee on Economic Development, Trade and Tourism meeting at 5:12 p.m. PRESENT  Committee members present were Representatives Green, James, Dyson, and Rokeberg. SUMMARY OF INFORMATION  BOB POE, Executive Director, Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority (AIDEA), Department of Community and Economic Development, offered a brief overview of AIDEA and its goals for the future regarding exports within the state, venture capitalism, and projects that are currently being undertaken by the organization. Specifically, one important issue discussed was Alaska Seafood International and the funds that were loaned to that institution for its future success. JIM McMILLAN added general and specific comments to Bob Poe's presentation, focusing also on some of the more in-depth economic specifications of some of AIDEA's business ventures. ANNOUNCEMENTS  There were no announcements. COMMITTEE ACTION The committee took no action.
