HOUSE COMMUNITY AND REGIONAL AFFAIRS STANDING COMMITTEE January 27, 2000 8:20 a.m. COMMITTEE CALENDAR Energy Issues PCE TAPES 00-2, SIDES A & B 00-3, SIDE A CALL TO ORDER REPRESENTATIVE CARL MORGAN, Co-Chair, convened the House Community and Regional Affairs Committee meeting at 8;20 a.m. PRESENT Committee members present were Representatives Morgan, Harris, Murkowski, Halcro, Kookesh and Dyson. SUMMARY OF INFORMATION KEITH LAUFER, Financial and Legal Affairs Manager of Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority, gave a broad overview of the state's energy programs. He responded to questions asked by committee members. RANDY SIMMONS, Executive Director of Alaska Iindustrial Development and Export Authority, participated in the overview of the state's energy programs and responded to questions. DAVID GERMER, Deputy Director of Business Development and Rural Energy at AIDEA, also participated in the overview and responded to questions. PERCY FRISBEE, Rural Energy Manager at AIDEA, discussed power cost equalization and responded to questions from committee members. JEFF STASER, federal Co-Chair of the Denali Commission, presented an overview of that commission's efforts to address rural energy problems in Alaska. He responded to committee members' questions.
