SB 207-ACCESS TO MARIJUANA CONVICTION RECORDS  4:22:05 PM CHAIR SHOWER reconvened the meeting and announced the consideration of SENATE BILL NO. 207 "An Act restricting the release of certain records of convictions; and providing for an effective date." He solicited a motion to adopt the committee substitute (CS) that incorporates the amendment the committee adopted during the previous hearing. 4:22:22 PM SENATOR COSTELLO moved to adopt the committee substitute (CS) for SB 207, work order 32-LS1601\B, as the working document. CHAIR SHOWER objected for discussion purposes. He explained the amendment streamlined the intent section to read: It is the intent of the legislature to reduce barriers to employment for people who have been convicted of low-level marijuana possession crimes that would be legal on January 1, 2023. 4:23:24 PM CHAIR SHOWER found no questions or comments and removed his objection. Without further objection, version B was adopted as the working document. 4:23:37 PM CHAIR SHOWER opened public testimony on SB 207; finding none, he closed public testimony.
