SCR 5-UNIFORM RULES; MASON'S MANUAL 12:04:55 PM CHAIR ELLIS announced SCR 5 to be up for consideration. DOUG GARDNER, Director, Division of Legislative Legal Services, said he review the 2010 Mason's with Tam Cook, the former director and they found that the 2010 Index ws very helpful compared to old one. They also found that some cases were outdated and some weren't as thoroughly reviewed as in the new version. Most of the changes are undramatic and the current version is a distinct improvement. SENATOR STEVENS asked if when the new edition would be available. MR. GARDNER replied after July 1. SENATOR STEVENS said it would be nice for someone like him to lead the legislature through a review of Mason's as members need to be brought up to date on changes as well as what it is about. MR. GARDNER said a good time to do that would be at the orientation at beginning of session. 12:09:16 PM CHAIR ELLIS said the books are on order. Leadership has received the 2010 edition already, and training is a good idea. 12:09:50 PM SENATOR MEYER moved to report SCR 5 from committee with individual recommendations and zero fiscal note. There were no objections and it was so ordered. 12:10:21 PM CHAIR ELLIS adjourned the meeting at 12:10 p.m.
