SENATOR LEMAN moved to adopt the Senate Rules Committee Substitute                                                              
for SJR 18-EXXON VALDEZ DAMAGE CLAIMS.  SENATOR ELLIS objected to                                                               
the Senate Rules Committee Substitute, and stated he believes it                                                                
waters down the original version too much.  A roll call vote was                                                                
taken.  The motion carried with Senators Leman, Miller, and Kelly                                                               
voting "yea," and Senator Ellis voting "nay."                                                                                   
                                                                                                                                
SENATOR LEMAN noted, for the record, that resolution of the                                                                     
judgments could have a financial impact on his family.  He then                                                                 
moved to report CSSJR 18(RLS) for calendaring.  SENATOR ELLIS                                                                   
objected.  The motion to calendar CSSJR 18(RLS) carried with                                                                    
Senators Miller, Leman, and Chairman Kelly voting "yea," and                                                                    
Senator Ellis voting "nay."
