CHAIRMAN MILLER brought SB 1003 (PUB.EMPLOYEES PAY/BENEFITS/CONTRACTS) before the committee as the first order of business. SENATOR DUNCAN inquired if the legislation incorporates all the provisions that were in CSSB 152(FIN) am (PUB. EMPLOYEE PAY/BENEFITS/CONTRACTS/RIP), which passed during the regular session. CHAIRMAN MILLER acknowledged that it does with the exception of taking out the one health benefit requiring the retiree to pay one-half of the dependent coverage for their spouse and replaces it with a 10-year vesting provision. SENATOR SHARP moved and asked unanimous consent CSSB 1003(FIN) be approved for calendaring. SENATOR SALO objected. The roll was taken with the following result: Senators Pearce, Sharp and Miller voted "Yea" and Senators Duncan and Salo voted "Nay." The Chairman stated the calendaring motion passed.
