CHAIRMAN JACKO introduced HJR 18 (ESTABLISH FISHING COMMUNITY AT ADAK) as the next order of business. SENATOR LITTLE referred to page 1, line 11, and asked for an explanation of the phrase "state of the art model fishing community on Adak Island." REPRESENTATIVE CARL MOSES, prime sponsor of HJR 18, said it just emphasizes the opportunity to vacate the island altogether, which he said is a possibility. Right now, it is planned to reduce Navy personnel on the base by approximately 50 percent by July 1994. SENATOR RIEGER moved and asked unanimous consent that HJR 18 be approved for calendaring at the Chair's discretion. Hearing no objection, it was so ordered.
